What is an untamed heart?
An untamed heart is a heart that is free from fear and limitation. A heart that feels very clearly what it wants and dares to pursue it.
And what is very important; an untamed heart forms untamed choices.
These are choices that are authentic and in which you remain true to yourself. This also includes taking healthy risks, which contribute to your personal growth. This allows you to continue to challenge yourself and develop your talents and qualities in a dynamic way.
Tamed VS. untamed
A tamed heart, on the other hand, feels a lot of fear.
This already gets established in early childhood. We quickly learn that life isn’t a safe place, especially when there has been tension in the parental family. All kinds of coping mechanisms are then developed to get through situations and periods of childhood and teenage- years.
It is also called the (emotional) survival mode. And that survival mode remains active - on a physical and emotional level - if it is not consciously stopped. This is accompanied by a dormant feeling of fear or insecurity, which over time is no longer noticeable but experienced as 'normal'.
Unprocessed traumatic events also produce a charge of constant fear, when the traumatic charge is still active. Another example of a limiting fear is fear of failure. In which you are afraid of disappointing people around you and not meeting their expectations. This can work very stifling, especially when it comes to making choices in study and career.

As a result of these fears, the heart starts to arm and protect itself. It hardens. And that beautiful untamed side of us, diminishes. We then choose (as a counterpart to fear) a life full of safety and routine. We go for the usual, the mediocre. That nervous desire for safety often comes at the expense of what we REALLY wish to see in our lives. And that's a shame, because then we deprive ourselves of a lot of freedom and happiness.
